As you may have noticed I have recently created by request Confused's Signature for anyone else who also uses Photoshop and may be interested in a few tips then heres a step-by-step tutorial to make the signature.

Start a New Document at 400x125.

Firstly we would need a background for this signature. I have chosen an abstract-type picture and copied it onto Layer 1.



Make new Layer and fill the Layer with black using the Fill Tool.



Then make another Layer and select White as the Foreground Colour.

Now slect the Brush Tool with the brush (Round Blurry-Edged) to make various sized white orbs.



Merge the Orb Layer with the black Layer (Ctrl+E). Then change the Layer Mode to "Screen".

Make a New Layer and fill it light blue for this example and set the Layer Mode to "Color" you should now have this result:



Next part is to get some Renders for this case I searched pics of Vegeta [Screaming (image1)] and [Anger (image2)]. Open these 2 pictures separately and carefully cut the images from the background using the Polygonal Lasso Tool or the Eraser.



Then copy and paste the images onto the signature then postion and scale them to the appropiate scale. For (image1) Duplicate the layer and select the layer below the new one and use the filter Radical Blue at Zoomed with 100%. As for the newer (image1), which remains untouched just change the Opacity to 45%.



For (image 2) just use Layer Properties to give the image Outer Glow with these settings.



To add the flames create another New Layer just below the (image2) layer and Fill it with Black.

Create another layer then use the brush tool to stroke around the render with white brush stroke as shown:



Then select the Smudge Tool and make upward smudges going away from the character to make flames.



Merge the flame layer with the black background and set the Layer Mode to "Screen".



Like before make another layer and fill it with a colour. This example Im using orange and set the mode to "Colour" and merge the layer with the flames.



Select the very top layer and create a new one and make an techo boarder for the name using the Polygonal Lasso Tool and the crosshair with circles and Polygonal Lasso Tool. (Tip: Hold Shift Key to make effect straight lines). Then fill the selections with white and set the Opacity to 50%.



Finally make the name on the signature in white.
